Poetry Contests

The winners of the 2012 Orange Monkey Poetry Contest have been announced!

2013 Orange Monkey Book Prize Details:

-Judged by Matt Hart!   


Bio:  Matt Hart is the author of five books of poetry, most recently Sermons and Lectures Both Blank and Relentless (Typecast Publishing, 2012) and Debacle Debacle(H_NGM_N Books, 2013). A co-founder and the editor-in-chief of Forklift, Ohio: A Journal of Poetry, Cooking & Light Industrial Safety, he lives in Cincinnati where he teaches at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and plays in the band TRAVEL.

-Our reading period will be from September 1st – October 15th.

-Submit 48-100 pages of poetry through our submission manager (Submittable) as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf.

-Individual poems may have been published but the collection as a whole needs to be unpublished.

-Please do not include any contact information on the document itself. We will contact you through the e-mail you use with Submittable.

-Do not attach an acknowledgements page. Our judge will be reading blindly and even an acknowledgements page can sometimes give away an identity.

-Submission fee: $20

-Winner of the contest will receive $1000 and 20 copies of their book.

-Students, friends, family, or anyone closely in relation to the judge are forbidden to submit.
